Our Story
California kids, Seattle story, Palm Springs forever.
Shane and Celi met at work (shh!) in Seattle back in 2017. Celi spent a few months pretending not to notice him while very much noticing him. Then one cold December night, a chance run-in on Capitol Hill turned into drinks, which turned into dancing under the disco ball at Chop Suey. Somewhere between the music, the moment, and the alcohol, Celi decided to made the first move. No regrets.
They kept things quiet for a while. New job, new city, new relationship...no need to make it weird. By the time they went public, literally no one was surprised. The real test came later when they found themselves caught between a global pandemic, a very tiny studio apartment, and approximately 24/7 togetherness. Not only did they survive...they thrived. That’s when they knew this was it. On August 22, 2025, Shane proposed at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle — balcony fully decorated, ring ready, and his grandma Honey secretly in on the whole plan. Celi was completely shocked (a rare achievement). She also accidentally stole a $65 teddy bear from the hotel room. Still, no regrets.
Palm Springs has long been their favorite escape from Seattle’s gray skies. It’s their happy place. Their reset button. Their excuse to wear linen. There was really no other option than bringing all of their favorite people to their favorite place. They can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you in the desert. Save them a seat by the pool. 🌞

Will the ceremony be outside?
Yes! The ceremony will be held outdoors. Palm Springs evenings in November can get a little chilly, so we recommend bringing a light layer to stay comfortable.
What will the weather be like?
November in Palm Springs is gorgeous — expect highs in the low 80s during the day and lows in the upper 50s at night. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening, and comfortable shoes for walking on the hotel grounds.
What is the dress code?
Cocktail / semi-formal. Think warm tones, rich colors, and fall-in-the-desert energy. Bridesmaids will be in burgundy. The ceremony is on grass, so skip the stilettos (your ankles will thank you). Palm Springs evenings in November can get a little chilly at night, so we recommend bringing a light layer to stay comfortable.
What's the best way to get to the venue?
Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is only about 3 miles from the Avalon. You can also fly into Ontario (ONT, ~1 hour drive) or LAX (~2 hours) if you find better fares. Rideshare is easy and affordable in the area.
Do I need to move between locations during the night?
Nope! Every wedding event (ceremony, cocktails, dinner, and afterparty) takes place at the Avalon Hotel. You won't need to drive anywhere once you arrive.
How long will the celebration be?
Plan to be there a while! The ceremony starts at 3pm, followed by cocktail hour, dinner, and an afterparty that goes late into the night. Wear your dancing shoes.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by June 25th, 2026 so we can finalize headcount and seating arrangements.
Can I bring a date?
Your invitation will specify if you have a plus one. If your plus one is not named on your invite, please reach out to us directly so we can make sure our headcount is accurate.
Are children allowed at the ceremony?
As much as we love your kids, this one's for the grown-ups. Grab a babysitter and come party with us in the desert!
Will there be gluten free / dairy free / vegetarian options available?
Yes! The chef will be preparing a variety of options to meet everyone's dietary needs. Please select one or more of these options when you RSVP (more details coming soon).
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
We ask that you please turn off your cellphones & cameras during the ceremony. Don't worry, we have hired a photographer and will have a lot of photos to share with you after the wedding.
